Obituary: Earl W. Casper
The funeral service for Earl W. Casper of New Richland, Minnesota was held 11:00 a.m. on Friday April 23, 2004 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Richland. Pastor Philip A. Lewiston will officiate. Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery. Visitation was 5-8p.m. Thursday April 22, 2004 at Friedrich Funeral Home in New Richland.
Earl died Tuesday April 20, 2004 at the New Richland Care Center, New Richland, Minnesota. He was 90 years old.
Earl was born March 13, 1914 in Byron Township, Waseca County, Minnesota to Edward and Martha (Bolduan) Casper. He was a New Richland lifetime area resident and attended country school. Earl married Mildred Theil.on December 8, 1943. She died on May 7, 1953. He married Ruth Spaag on January 28, 1956. She died March 5, 1999. Earl was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church. He sang in the choir and served on the church council. Earl was a farmer. Earl was a resident of Country Neighbors for 5 years and the last month and a half was a resident of the New Richland Care Center. Farming was very special to him.
Earl is survived by three sons: Dwight Casper and his wife Gay of Minnesota City, Minnesota, David Casper and his wife Dannette of West St. Paul, Minnesota and Dale Casper of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; six grandchildren: Kevin, Kari, Katie, Matthew, Elizabeth and Laura; brother: Melvin Casper of Range, Wisconsin and nieces and nephews.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Martha; wives Mildred and Ruth; brothers: Leonard, Arthur, Kenneth and a brother Roger in infancy; sisters: Elsie Ulrich, Ida Gratz and Emma Shave
