Remembering the life of Dorothy "Fern" Wendt...
The Funeral Service for Dorothy "Fern" Wendt of Albert Lea, will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Monday, April 12, 2004 at St. John's Lutheran Home Chapel. The Reverend Paul Aldrich will
officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour before services at St. John's.
Dorothy died on Friday, April 9, 2004, at St. John's Lutheran Home. She was 88. She was born on October 3, 1915, in South Dakota, the daughter of Henry and Ameilia
(Nielsen) Lundquist. As a young girl her family moved and made their home in Albert Lea. She graduated from Albert Lea
High School. On December 27, 1941, she married Erhard (E.F.) Wendt in Albert Lea. Fern and E.F. were founding members of Zion Lutheran Church. She had worked at American
Gas Co., Northwestern Insurance, and later at Streater before retiring.
Fern enjoyed golfing and having coffee at Cafe: Don'l.
She loved spending time with her fmaily, especially shopping with her granddaughters and her travels to
Hawaii, Mexico, and Jamaica with son Terry and his family.
She is survived by her son Terry Wendt and his fiance
Shelley Eagan of Janesville, WI, granddaughters: Amy and her husband Dan Hewuse of Shakopee, MN., Laurie Wendt of Appleton, WE., Valerie and her hsuband Matt Amdahl of Menifee, CA., special friend and former daughter-in-law LaVonne Wendt of Albert Lea, sister-in-law Doris Lundquist of Midland, MI., nephew David Lundquist and his wife Jan and family of Chanhassen, MN., niece Susie and her husband Mike Staloch and their daughter Amy of Midland, MI.,
She was preceded in death by her husband Erhard (E.F.) Wendt in 1993, and brothers Curtis and Carroll Lundquist.
