Memorial service for Dorothy Snider will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, August 18, 2016 at St. Theodore Catholic Church. Father Russ Scepaniak will officiate. Interment will be in St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. Wednesday August 17 at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea and again one hour prior to the service at church.
Dorothy Mae (McNulty) Snider passed away August 10, 2016 at Three Links Reflections Hospice in Northfield, Minnesota at the age of 89. She was born on February 28, 1927 in Lena, Illinois to Stephen and Luellen McNulty. The family was separated at the death of their mother when Dorothy was four years old. She attended through first grade in Lena and then was brought to Minnesota. Years later the siblings reunited and had many wonderful family gatherings in Illinois.
Dorothy and her husband Wayne came to Albert Lea in 1957 and spent many joy-filled years raising their family and cultivating lifelong friendships. Wayne died in September of 1989. Dorothy worked ten years at National Foods and 30 years at Security Bank. She was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church, Naeve Hospital Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed her volunteer work after retiring.
Survivors include her children, Tom (Joni) Wehrenberg of Le Roy, MN, Ann (David) Hartsook of Owatonna, MN, Sherri (Carl) Woetzel of Lakeville, MN, Marne (Paul) Busch of Wabasha, MN, Arlene Snider (Doug) of Eagan, MN, Marianne Carr of Wabasha, MN; many wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Dora Jean Wenzel of Lena, IL; sisters-in-law, Virginia Miller and Lucille Nolan; and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne O. Snider; son, Michael Wehrenberg; brothers, Ray, Don, Orville, LeRoy, Carson; and sister, Nelda Schlegel.
