Obituary: Dorothy M. Piltingsrud
The funeral service for Dorothy M. Piltingsrud of New Richland, Minnesota will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2003 at the Ellendale Assemblies of God Church, Ellendale, Minnesota. Pastor Robert Mumm will officiate. Interment will be in St. Olaf Cemetery, New Richland, Minnesota. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at Friedrich Funeral Home, New Richland, Minnesota and one hour before the service at the church.
Dorothy died Friday December 5, 2003 at San Gorgonia Hospital, Banning, California. She was 95 years old.
Dorothy was born April 27, 1908 in Iowa to Martin O. and Alice (Gustafson) Olson. She lived in Iowa and New Richland and the past three years at Banning, California. Dorothy graduated from New Richland High School and Mankato Teachers College. She taught school in rural New Richland. Dorothy was a member of the Ellendale Assemblies Of God Church and was active in her church. She taught Sunday School and Adult Bible Study at the church and also taught Bible Study at the New Richland Care Center. Dorothy enjoyed music, playing the piano and reading. She also enjoyed taking pictures. Family was especially important to her.
Dorothy is survived by two children: Alice Larsen and her husband Paul of Banning, California and Dale Piltingsrud and his wife Marie of New Richland, Minnesota ; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Russell Olson and sister: Ruth Borchard.
