The funeral service for Dorothy Jean (Lindahl) Jordahl, age 80, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at First Lutheran Church of Albert Lea. The Reverend John Holt will officiate. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, 2210 E. Main St., Albert Lea and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Dorothy passed away on Sunday, August 02, 2009 at Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea.
She was born on December 17, 1928, the daughter of Reuben and Mina (Madson) Lindahl in Albert Lea. On May 12, 1949, she was united in marriage to Merle Jordahl in Albert Lea. They made their home in Albert Lea and were blessed with four children.
Dorothy enjoyed cooking and entertaining for her family and friends, who always knew they would get a great meal and lively conversation when visiting. She was known for her roast beef dinners, homemade pies, lefse making and her chocolate chip cookies. The most important thing to Dorothy was raising her children and taking part in the lives of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and her wonderful group of close friends that have been so supportive of the family.
Dorothy is survived in death by her husband Merle, children Deborah and husband Dan Beighley of Cedar Falls, IA, Mary and husband Bill Lubke, Brian and wife Kristie (Porter) of Albert Lea; grandchildren Miguel Luevano and wife Suzie, Susan (Lubke) and husband Jason Schmidt, Robin Luevano, Abigail (Luevano) Hamberg, Joseph Lubke, Anthony Luevano and significant other Kayla Leonhardi, Nicholas Luevano, Brooke (Lubke) and husband Jeremy Jacobson, Kellie Jordahl and Joshua Jordahl; thirteen great-grandchildren and several cousins.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Susan, and special Aunt Ruth Peterson.
