Funeral services for Dorothy (Lozen) Johnson will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 7, 2015 at St. Theodore Catholic Church. Father Russell Scepaniak will officiate. Visitation will be from4:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday at the Bonnerup Funeral Chapel, Albert Lea, as well as one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at St. Theodore Cemetery.
Dorothy passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Home. She was 73 years old.
Dorothy Mae (Lozen) Johnson was born at home on September 26, 1942 to Bertram and Marion (Vermander) Lozen in Mount Clemens, MI. She attended and graduated from St Louis Catholic High School in Mount Clemens. She then went on to St. Josephs Nursing School in Mount Clemens, where she graduated in 1962.
On February 8, 1964 she was united in marriage to Clayton Johnson in Mount Clemens. The couple moved to Albert Lea, a place they called home, in March of 1964. Dorothy worked the last 40 years as a nurse at St. John's Lutheran Home, and loved what she did.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clayton; parents, Bertram and Marion Lozen; sister, Gerry (Jack) Fraser; brother-in-law, Bob (Joann) Klitzke; mother and father in-law, Clifford Sr. and Marvel Johnson.
She will be missed by her children, Patrick Johnson, Sandy (Bob) Bera, and Jeff (Michele) Johnson; grandchildren, Stephen (Laura) Bera, Nick Bera and special friend Ashley Bergers, Matthew Bera, Samuel, Maggie, and Annie Johnson; siblings, Bert (Elaine) Lozen, Norman (Kay) Lozen, Barb (Bob) Sanderson, Don (Jane) Lozen, Pat Swanson, Mike (Jackie) Lozen, Kathy Lozen; brother and sister in-law, Clifford (Jody) Johnson; as well as many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
