REMEMBERING THE LIFE OF DOROTHY E. CLAUSEN
The Funeral Service for Dorothy E. Clausen of rural Albert Lea, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 16, 2003 at the East Freeborn Lutheran Church in rural Albert Lea. Pastor David Hernes will officiate. Interment will be in East Freeborn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M.to 8:00 P.M. on Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.
Dorothy died on Monday, August 11, 2003 at the Good Samaritan Center, where she had been a resident since March. She was 87 years old.
She was born on May 17, 1916, in London Township, Freeborn County, MN.,
the daughter of Albert and Ethel (Case) Olson.
She attended school in London Township and later graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1934.
On June 8, 1938, she married Morris Clausen in Albert Lea. Following their marriage, they farmed in rural Kiester until 1944, when they moved to their present
farm northeast of Albert Lea. Dorothy took an active role in all aspects of farm living throughout her life.
She as a member of East Freeborn Lutheran Church, where she had been active in altar guild, ladies aid, circle, and had held various offices.
She is survived by two children: Carroll and his wife Janae Hollandale and their daughters Amy of Blue Earth, and April of St. Paul, daughter Marilyn
and her husband Dennis Christensen of Prior Lake, MN., and their children Travis of McCall, Idaho, Shellee and her husband Steve Courtier of LaPush, WA., and
Susan of Minneapolis; sister-in-law Lorraine and her husband Marvin Gaard of rural Albert Lea and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2001, and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Dorothy was the heart of her family, very devoted to all of her loved ones care and well being. She will be greatly missed.
