The graveside service for Doris Marie Hurla of Park Rapids, Minnesota will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery, Albert Lea, Minnesota. Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate.
Doris died February 10, 2012 at Las Vegas, Nevada. She was 65 years old.
Doris was born May 4, 1946 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to Clarence and Clara (Neist) Jacobson. Doris graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1964. She married John Hurla on August 8, 1964 They lived in Columbia, South Carolina, Fort Dodge, Iowa, Austin, Minnesota, Owatonna, Minnesota, Albert Lea, Minnesota and then in 2002 moved to Park Rapids, Minnesota where they retired. Doris liked going to craft shows. She liked nature and the outdoors and especially enjoyed living in her home in the woods at Park Rapids. Doris enjoyed traveling and has traveled throughout Europe, The Caribbean, Hawaii, Philippines and Mexico. She also enjoyed going on many cruises.
Doris is survived by her husband John Hurla of Park Rapids, Minnesota; daughter: Gail Kreger and her husband Mark and granddaughter Miranda all of St. Paul, Minnesota; son: Michael Hurla of Park Rapids, Minnesota; sister: Hazel Martinson and her husband Gordy of Glenville, Minnesota; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents: Clarence and Clara Jacobson; and her sister: Clarice Olson
