Donna Stapleton

Donna Marie Stapleton, 90, of Albert lea MN passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025, at St. John's Lutheran Community Albert Lea. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.

Donna was born in Wilmot, SD, on April 16, 1934, to parents John and Evelyn Huff (Nelson). She graduated from Sisseton High School 1952. Soon after, she married William Stapleton on November 9, 1954. Together the couple shared 70 happy, loving years.

Donna was gentle and kind spirit who loved coffee with friends, and spending time with her husband, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Donna loved spending time at the lake lot, and baking cinnamon rolls. Dedicated to her faith, Donna was a long-time member of St. Theodore's Catholic Church and Lady's guild.

Donna is survived by her husband of 70 years, William Stapleton; children, Mark (Barb) Stapleton, Ann (Gordy) Olson, Loretta Hanegraaf (Joe Filan), Tim (Mary) Stapleton, Paula Dahl (Dan Peterson), and Theresa Braget; grandchildren, Jessica, Julia, Adam, Ashley, Samantha, Andrew, Matt, Daniel, Erin, Travis and Trevor; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Janie and Ellen; brothers-in-law, Joe (Devra) Stapleton and Mike (Rachel) Stapleton; and a sister-in-law, Dayl Stapleton.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, John and Evelyn Huff; In-laws, Lloyd and Julia Stapleton; sons-in-law, Dan Dahl and Todd Braget; and sisters-in-law, Rita Stapleton and Dorothy Goodhart.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, March 17, 2025, at St. Theodore Catholic Church, with a visitation beginning at 10:00AM. Burial will be in St. Theodore Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow at the church.
