It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Domingo Perez Samora, born on July 21, 1957, in Plainview, TX, to his beloved parents Jose Sr. and Consuelo (Perez) Samora. He departed from this world on June 1, 2024, at his residence in Albert Lea, MN at the age of 66.
Domingo led a remarkable life filled with an unwavering zest for living. Growing up in Plainview, TX, he diligently pursued his education, ultimately achieving his GED and furthering his knowledge through machinist college courses. Upon relocating to Minnesota for employment, he transitioned to California and then returned to Albert Lea where he eventually retired from Larson Manufacturing in 2022.
A man of immense kindness and generosity, Domingo epitomized the spirit of compassion and assistance, always there when someone needed a helping hand, often declaring, "I gotchu." His enthusiasm for life was infectious, and he cherished moments spent with his family, relishing in sharing stories and engaging in lively conversations for hours on end. Domingo's love for collecting items ranging from coins to sports cards and rocks showcased his appreciation for the intricate details of life.
Domingo's passion for living on the edge manifested in his love for cycling, his preferred mode of transportation. Additionally, he found joy in savoring delectable meals with his family and indulging in the thrill of the Minnesota Lottery, his optimism guiding him to purchase multiple tickets in pursuit of the jackpot.
He leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of his siblings, Janie (Alvin Hernandez) Jaime, Guadalupe (Jose) Irlas, Rosario Irlas, Martha Bronstad, and Jose (Angie) Samora; along with three generations of nieces and nephews he cherished dearly.
Domingo was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Manuel Samora and Trinidad Quintero; nephews, Juan Irlas Jr., Francisco “Frankie” Irlas Sr., Michael Raymond, and Fredrick Yancy.
Although Domingo may have embarked on his next journey, his spirit remains eternally vibrant in the memories and experiences he shared with his loved ones. May his light shine brightly in our hearts forevermore.
