Funeral services for Dolores L. Benbow of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Pastor Janet White and Pastor John Holt will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4 until 7 PM at the Bonnerup Funeral service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery.
Mrs. Benbow died Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at St John's Lutheran Home in Albert Lea. She was 81 years of age.
Dolores was born July 5, 1933 in Albert Lea, MN, the daughter of Mervin and Blanche (Stensrude) Wogen. She graduated from Albert Lea High School and attended Lea College. She was united in marriage to Philip Benbow who preceded her in death. Dolores had been a member of Grace Lutheran Church and had been employed as Relocation Director for the Housing Authority in Albert Lea and Austin for many years.
In her free time, Dolores enjoyed singing and sewing but the love of her life was time spent with her grandchildren.
Dolores is survived by her children Kris Brandt (Cedric Thomas) of Albert Lea, MN, and Brant Storvick of Owatonna, MN. Grandchildren include Nicole Storvick (Michael Ludowese), Dagan (Ruthie) Brandt, Alex Brandt and Megan Storvick. There are two great grandchildren; Abigail Thompson and Dexter Brandt. Also surviving are brother Richard (Judy) Wogen of St Louis Park, MN, sisters Kathy Bratvold of Burnsville, MN, Maureen Bliler of Scottsdale, AZ, sister in law Chloe Wogen of Pennsylvania, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Philip, brothers Roger and Kendall Wogen and Nephew Steven Wogen.
Dolores had a love for life and always put everyone else first in her life.
