Debra Bolinger

Debra S. (Groe) Bolinger, 65, of Albert Lea, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 1, 2022, in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Debra was born July 9, 1956 to Duane and Laurene Groe and was the sister to Lonnie Groe.  She grew up in the Myrtle area and graduated from Glenville Emmons Highschool in 1974.  In school, Debra was known as the smartest and most beautiful.  She was nominated prom queen her senior year.

Debra’s life-long friends (Pauline Perleberg, Shela Jensen, and Brenda Dickman) rode bike, went out dancing, and always talked on the phone, ending their phone conversations with contagious laughter.

Debra married the love of her life, Terry Bolinger, on March 5, 1999 at the Little Church of The West in Las Vegas.  Shortly after their union of marriage, they welcomed their loving son, Mark D. Bolinger on May 3, 1999.  Debra was also a loving stepmother to Roxanne Tietze, Shane Bolinger, and Tonya Talamantes.

Debra worked at Land-O-Lakes and did home health care.  She loved helping others.  Some of her hobbies included collecting knick-knacks and making jewelry.  Deb loved bird watching, especially hummingbirds and cardinals, and spending time with her dogs: Hunter, Nikki, and Pugsley.  She loved online shopping and had an eye for the best deals.  She also loved the outdoors and spending time with her grandchildren.  Deb was kindhearted, loving, and passionate, with a smile that would brighten up the room.

Left to cherish Debra’s memory is her husband, Terry; her son, Mark; her stepchildren, Shane, Roxanne, and Tonya; her grandchildren; and her brother, Lonnie (Jackie) Groe.

Preceding Debra in death were her loving parents, Duane and Laurene Groe.

She will be greatly missed by her family, grandchildren, and many friends, and will forever be in our hearts.

A time for visitation will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Bonnerup Funeral Service.  A memorial service will start at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain Loren Olson officiating.  Interment will take place at a later date.
