Obituary for DeeAnn Ruth Michaelis
The funeral service for DeeAnn "Dee" Ruth Michaelis will be held at 1:30 PM Monday, August 30, 2004, at Salem Lutheran Church, Albert Lea, MN. The Reverend Jay Dahlvang will officiate. Burial will be in Hayward Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Sunday at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour before the service at the church.
Dee died on Wednesday, August 25, 2004, in Duluth, MN as a result of an accident. She was 62 years old.
Dee was born in Albert Lea, MN on August 28, 1941, the daughter of Norris and Shirley (Rupp) Anderson. She was baptized at Hayward Lutheran Church and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church. She attended Albert Lea High School and then Man Power Secretarial School for 2 years.
On November 20, 1970, Dee was united in marriage with Robert Michaelis at Salem Lutheran Church where they are members. Church was an important part of Dee?s life and she was active in altar guild, church council, building committee, and Sarah Circle.
Dee had worked for three years at Quality Foods before working for South Minnesota Oil as office manager for over 30 years. She was a member of the Albert Lea American Kennel Club and she loved and was proud of her toy poodles that had won many awards. She loved life and had great times traveling with her husband, Bob in their RV and going on cruises. She enjoyed decorating her home, gardening, reading, walking and spending time with her family and friends.
Dee is survived by her husband, Bob of Albert Lea, MN; daughter, Michele (Jeff) Lester of Ramsey, MN; son, Mark (Pam) Godtland of Albert Lea, MN; two grandchildren: Rachael and Zachary Godtland of Albert Lea, MN; mother, Shirley Bendickson of Albert Lea, MN; sister, Helen (Brad) Bena of Albert Lea, MN; brother, Dean (Charlene) Anderson of Albert Lea, MN; three step-brothers: Dean (Sandy) Bendickson of Alden, MN, Jay (Trina) Bendickson of Keister, MN, Ross (Sandra) Bendickson of Illinois; brother-in-law, Gordy (Dixie) Michaelis of Albert Lea, MN; sister-in-law, Norma (Jerry) Birkman of Blaine, MN; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Norris Anderson; step-father, Ingvald Bendickson; grandparents; mother and father-in-law, Leonard and Alice Michaelis.
Dee was a kind and loving person and will be missed by all who love her. Blessed be her memory.
