David Sorenson

David A. Sorenson, 62 of Albert Lea, MN died Friday Nov. 13, 2009 at Albert Lea Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held on Sat. Nov 21, 2009 at 1:00 pm at St. Theodore's Catholic Church. Burial will take place at St. Theodore Cemetery following the services. Visitation will be on Friday Nov. 20, 2009 5 -8 pm at Bonnerup Funeral Home. Dave was born Aug. 1, 1947 to Elmer and Sophie (Pfeifer) Sorenson in Albert Lea, MN. At the age of five his family moved to Owatonna, MN where he graduated high school. On June 29, 1968 he was united in marriage to Pat Jacobs at St. Theodore's Catholic Church. The couple made their home in Albert Lea, MN. Dave worked as an auto mechanic at Freeborn County Co-op Oil as shop manager and later at Motor Inn Co. in Albert Lea, MN. He was a member of the Moose Club where he was Governor from 1984 to 1985,. He was also a member of the Legion of the Moose and held the Moose Fellowship Degree of Honor, member of the Moose Ritual Staff and a member of the Albert Lea Clown Troupe. Dave was an avid fisherman, going to many local lakes with family and friends, also taking advantage of deep sea fishing on his many travels with his wife. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, camping, and golfing. He loved to spend time with family and friends. Dave is survived by his wife, Pat; brothers: Robert (Valerie) Sorenson of College Station, TX and Richard Sorenson of Owatonna, MN; mother-in-law, Reedie Jacobs of Albert Lea; brothers- and sisters-in-law: John (Carol) Jacobs, Jo Johnson, all of Albert Lea, MN; nieces and nephews: Robert Sorenson, Jr. of Sacramento, CA, Ronald E. Sorenson, of Phoenix, AZ, Thomas E. Sorenson of Corpus Christi, TX, Rhonda Sorenson and special friend Brian Wocelka, Randy Sorenson, Renee Sorenson and special friend Jim Saufferer, all of Owatonna, MN, Kelly (Michael) Feuerhak of Austin, MN, Cory Johnson and special friend Nickie Whelan of Albert Lea, MN and Scott (Heather) Johnson of LaCrosse, WI. Great nieces and nephews: Ashlee Sorenson, Cheyenne Wocelka, Danielle Saufferer and special friend Eric Paulson, Andrea Saufferer, Ayden Paulson, Tyler Feuerhak, Trevor Feuerhak, Jacob Garrison, and Kori Johnson. Preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Sophie Sorenson; father-in-law, Cap Jacobs; brothers-in-law: Rick Jacobs and Dave Johnson; Nephew: Eric Jacobs Dave was a gentle, kind and loving man who will be sadly missed by his wife and family.
