David Reckard

David Paul Reckard was born December 30, 1939 in Madelia, MN to Charles and Mariam (Strickler) Reckard.  David lived and worked on a farm in Aitkin, Minnesota where he met and married Lois Jean Winterowd on July 3rd, 1959 in Garrison, MN.  They had four children, Vickie, Gloria, Harvey and Eugene.  Lois died in July, 1983 and on August 8, 1986, he met and married Barbara Johnson.  He worked for Nash Finch Company for over 35 years.  He lived in Mankato, MN; Winona, MN; Dubuque, IA; Albert Lea, MN; Muscatine, IA; Mountain Home, AR; Faribault, MN and Rogers, MN.

Dave died at the age of 77 at The Wellstead of Rogers, in Rogers, Minnesota.  He is preceded in death by an infant sister, his parents, his wife Lois and nephew, Paul Poppenhagen.  He leaves behind his sister, Marge (Jim) Poppenhagen, Princeton, MN; his brother John (Dorothy) Reckard, Mountain Home, AR;  his children, Vickie (Wayne) Holbeck, Corcoran, MN; Gloria (Mark) Larsen, Edgeley, ND; Harvey (Sue) Reckard, Menomonie, WI; Eugene (fiance Dawn Palm-Leis) Reckard, LaCrosse, WI.  He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Andrew (Sarah) Reckard, Brad (Kristen) Jones, Kim (Darin) Ziemer, Laura (Andrew) Dietsche, Travis Jones, Nathan (Paige) Reckard, Kaitlin Palm-Leis and Kristjen Palm-Leis.  He also has five great grandchildren, Adam, Alexis, Abigail, Caden and Troy along with several nieces, nephews and their children.

A celebration of Dave's life will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Albert Lea United Methodist Church, 702 Highway 69 South, Albert Lea, MN  56007, with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Reverend John Mitchem will officiate. Burial will be immediately following the service at Hillcrest Cemetery, Albert Lea, MN.
