Remembering the life of Darlene Greibrok-Hahn
The Funeral Service for Darlene Greibrok-Hahn, of Albert Lea, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 30 ,2003 at the United Methodist Church in Albert Lea.
The Reverend John Bromeland and the Reverend James Haun
will officiate. Interment will be in the Hayward Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 Monday at Bonnerup
Funeral Service, and one hour before the service at the church.
Darlene died on Saturday December 27, 2003 at her home.
She was 68. Darlene was born in Des Moines, Iowa on June 9, 1935, the daughter of Floyd and Gladys (Freeman) Lehman. She was a graduate of Lyle High School.
On June 22, 1953, she was united in marriage with Maurice
Greibrok. To this union three children were born: Steven,
Carol, and Matthew. They farmed near Moscow, and he preceded
her in death. On June 9, 2001, Darlene was united in marriage with Robert Hahn. During her life she had lived
in Des Moines, Iowa, Lyle, Moscow, and in Albert Lea since 1979.
Darlene was a very active member of the United Methodist Church. She had worked as a telephone operator in Lyle, H&R
Block in Austin, Four Seasons Travel, the United Methodist Church, and Senior Resources in Albert Lea. She was a member of the Albert Lea Book Club, served on the Board of
Directors for the house of Hope, and was a Hospice Volunteer. Darlene was also active in the Albert Lea Community Theatre, the District #241 School Board, and was on the new high school search committee. She loved nature
and enjoyed bird watching, traveling, gardening, and cooking.
Darlene enjoyed being around people and giving of herself,
especially the time she spent with all of her grandchildren.
Darlene is survived by her husband Robert of Albert Lea;
three children: Steve Greibrok of New York City, N.Y. Carol
Greibrok of Eagan, MN., and Matthew (Anne) Greibrok of Albert Lea; two step children: Robert (Carol) Hahn Jr. of
Springfield, MO., and William(Brenda) Hahn of Rochester; two
grandchildren Nicole Greibrok and Heather Greibrok; five
stepgrandchildren: Dani (Nathan) Legred, Stephani (Dan)
Diekmann, Jon (Ali) Hahn, Mary Hahn, and Anthony Hahn;
seven great-grandchildren; mother Gladys Lehman of Albert Lea, Barbara (Thomas) Butler of Albert Lea; brother-in-law Carl "Bud" (Carolyn) Grupp; two sisters-in-law Dorothy Greibrok, and Ethel Greibrok Jensen; nieces and nephews
and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death in death by her father Floyd Lehman first husband Maurice, and one sister Wilma Grupp.
Darlene will be sadly missed by her loving family and many
friends.
