Funeral services for Christopher (Chris) C. Matthies of New Richland, MN, will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 28, 2005 at the All Saints Catholic Church in New Richland, MN. Father Donald Rausher and Pastor Paul Andree will officiate. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5 until 8 PM at the Friedrichs Funeral Home in New Richland, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Christopher died Thursday morning, November 24, 2005 as the result of an automobile accident. He was 21 years of age.
Chris was born December 9, 1983 in Blue Earth, MN. He was a graduate of New Richland High School class of 2002 and the Rasmussen Business College in Mankato, MN. He was currently employed by Midwest Wireless in sales.
Chris was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church in New Richland, MN. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, hunting, softball and hanging out with his friends, but his real love was playing golf. Chris could always be found on the course, or trying to get that special club to improve his game.
Chris is survived by his parents David and Diane Matthies of New Richland, MN, sister; Holly Matthies of New Richland, MN, grandparents; Eugene and Mavis Parrish of Albert Lea, MN, aunts and uncles; Mary Matthies of Eden Prairie, MN, Mike (Sue) Matthies of Rochester, MN, Charlene Meyer of Camano, WA, Clarinda (Walt) Miller of Montgomery, MN, Sharon (LeRoy) Reed of Milford, Kansas. Also surviving are several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents; Orville and Veronica Matthies, uncle Jeffery Matthies and several great aunts and uncles.
