The memorial service for Charles Ernest Hanson of Albert Lea, will be 1:30p.m.Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. Reverend Curtis Zieske will officiate. Interment will be Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be hour prior to the service. Military honors will be accorded. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church. Charles died October 1, 2008 at his home. He was 71 years old. Charles was born June 6, 1937 at Albert Lea, Minnesota to Harvey R. and Bertha H. (Nordby) Hanson. He attended Albert Lea High School and has been a lifetime Albert Lea resident except for 10 years that he lived in Montana. Charles was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church. Charles served in the United States Army. He entered the service July 21, 1954 and was discharged July 19, 1957. He had been stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas. Charles drove truck for several companies. He especially enjoyed playing Domino's. Charles is survived by three children: Charles Lee Hanson and his wife Genevieve, Julie Mangus and her husband Kim and Randy Hanson all of Billings, Montana; three grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; two brothers: Raymond Hanson and his wife Norma of Clarks Grove, Minnesota and Harold Hanson and his wife Maxine of Clarks Grove, Minnesota; one sister: Carol Johnson and her husband Jon of Albert Lea, Minnesota. Charles is preceded in death by his father: Harvey R. Hanson in February 1990 and mother: Bertha Hanson in October 2006
