The Funeral Service for Charles A. Estes of
Albert Lea
will be held at 11:00 A.M. on
Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Bonnerup Funeral Service,2210 East Main, Albert Lea,
MN.
Pastor Tamara Dahlvang will officiate.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour before the service on Wednesday.
Charles died on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
He
was 82.
He was born on April 22, 1927, near
Ellendale
,
Minnesota
the son of Thomas
and Leona (Fawcett) Estes.
He attended rural country schools near Ellendale, Dexter and then Glenville.
Charles began working at Queen Stoves and worked there for 43 1/2 years before
retiring in 1990.
He was united in marriage to Mary Miller on December 4, 1948 in
Austin
,
MN
.
He enjoyed welding, gardening and fixing on cars.
He especially enjoyed his granddaughters and great granddaughter.
Charles is survived by his sons: Leland Estes and his wife Ann of
Emmons
,
MN
,
and Greg Estes of
Austin
,
MN
, granddaughters: Angelene Meyering of
Buffalo Center
,
IA
,
and Emily and her husband Jeremy Flink of Emmons, great
granddaughter Rebecca Meyering; sister Donna Christianson and her husband
David of Albert Lea and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary in 1989, daughter Cathy
Estes in 2001, great grandson Ethan Meyering in 2004, granddaughter Jennifer Estes
on April 2, 2009
and siblings: Jim, Duane, Donald, Thelma and Marjorie.
