Carroll Richard Lundquist was born February 24, 1914 to parents Henry and Amelia on a farm near Erwin South Dakota. His father passed away on May 20, 1920. His mother moved the family to Albert Lea, Minnesota.
Carroll graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1933. He was employed in The District Office of Interstate Power Company, Albert Lea on June 1933. Carroll married Marvel V. Burton on May 10, 1936. He and his wife were transferred to the Interstate Power Co. District Office at Spring Valley, Minnesota in 1937, to Fulda, Minnesota in 1943, to Oelwein, Iowa, in 1948 and to Decorah, Iowa in 1949. He had been District Auditor at these locations.
In 1950 he was transferred to the Corporate Office in Dubuque, Iowa as manager of Field Accounting. During his employment he supplemented his education by completing a correspondence course in accounting with International Correspondence School of Scranton, Penn. And Dale Carnegie Program and Executive Management programs at Lansing, Mich.
During his stay at Dubuque he was active in the Lions Club, Elks Club, Junior Chamber of Commerce, Management Club, Transportation. Also, United Way, Boy Scout and Girl Scout Fund Raising Campaigns. He retired from Interstate Power as Director of Purchasing and Vehicle Maint. Garages on June 16, 1978.
After 45 years of service the Lundquists returned to Albert Lea in May of 1981.And purchased a Town House. In Albert Lea, Carroll was a member of the Country Club, Elks Club, and the Presbyterian Church. He liked to golf, ride bike and was a walker. He also enjoyed spectator sports. He spent the winter months in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
He is preceded in death by his wife Marvel and brother Curtis and his parents.
