Carrie Jean Blake

Carrie Jean Blake, 43, of North Las Vegas, passed away on October 11, 2023.

Born on August 10, 1980, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, she was the beloved daughter of Gary Blake and the late Dianne (Fjermestad) Blake.

From her early years, she radiated a sweetness and kindness. As a child, she loved her pets and even kept a pet rabbit in her bedroom. Carrie's vibrant spirit led her to pursue her love of cosmetology. Working diligently at various salons, she honed her skills and became a gifted hairdresser.

Carrie's love for the outdoors was evident in her enjoyment of nature and spending time outdoors. Carrie generously spread her wings residing in various states across the country, including Colorado, Minnesota, and Nevada, where she eventually settled in North Las Vegas.

Carrie's love for baking cakes brought her immense happiness in her early years, and she was always eager to share them. But above all, Carrie found the most joy in spending time with her family and incredible friends.

Carrie will be forever cherished and remembered by her father, Gary Blake, and her step-mother, Rochelle “Shelly” Blake; her brother, Matthew (Megan) Blake; niece and nephews, JD, Asher, Abram, and Ahna; maternal grandmother, Rita Blake; uncles, Don (Mary) Blake, Tim (Brenda) Blake and Brian Fjermestad; aunts, Jeanne (Guy) Nelson and Deb Fjermestad and her children, whom she entrusted to the care of other loving families, Keenan, Aspen, and Andy; her extended family and many friends.

Carrie was preceded in death by her mother, Dianne Blake, who passed away in 2002; her maternal grandparents, Arnold and Lorrie Fjermestad; uncle, Brad Fjermestad and paternal grandfather, Harold Blake.

A celebration of Carrie’s life will be held at a later date.
