Bradley "Brad" M. Thompson passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at his home in Albert Lea. He was 53 years old. Private family services are being held at a later date.
Brad was born on March 12, 1960 in Mason City, IA, and was the son of David and Nylene (Hagen) Mostrom. David passed away in 1968 and Brad was adopted Gilman Thompson. Together, Nylene and Gilman raised him along with his three siblings, moving to Albert Lea in 1970.
Brad graduated from Emmons High School in 1978 and spent two years at a vocational school. He worked for Streeters for many years, and in 2003, moved to Osseo, MN to work at Caterpillar as a painter. In December of 2011 he returned to Albert Lea.
Brad loved model cars, grilling, cooking, car detailing, and his family.
He is survived by his parents, Nylene and Gilman Thomson of Albert Lea; daughter, Courtney Thompson of Brownsdale, MN; siblings; Brenda Thompson of Bloomington, Randy (Kris) Thompson of Geneva; and Rachel Thompson and her significant other, Pete of Albert Lea; nieces and nephews, Amy, Chelsea, Hannah, Ally, Sam, Nick, and Jesse; numerous aunts and uncles; and many cousins.
Brad is preceded in death by his birth father, David Mostrom; significant other, Anna; both paternal and maternal grandparents; cousin, Elois Hagen; and uncles, Everett and Gary Hagen, Gordy Thompson, Dean and Duane Mostom, Art Skram, Larry Nelson, and Steve Thibodeau.
