Betty died on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Just Like Home Retirement Home in Albert Lea. She was 84 years of age.
Betty was born November 21, 1927 near Albert Lea, MN, the daughter of Bert and Palma (Knudson) Sigurdson. She attended the Barlow country school.
Her early years were spent with her husband and children on the family farm milking cows (which she loved!) walking in the woods hunting for stones and watching the birds. She knew every bird and taught her family and friends to love nature.
Betty was a foster parent and had fond memories of the children that stayed. Every summer on the farm, nieces, nephews and others would come and stay. She loved children.
In her free time, Betty enjoyed reading, writing poetry and yodeling. She also loved to fish, work in her garden and rock garden. Whomever she met, she touched their lives.
Betty is survived by her children; Paulette and husband Scott Kallberg of Albert Lea, MN, Ronald and wife Judith Johnson of Leona, TX, Bruce and (Cathy Davis)Johnson of Albert Lea, MN. Grandchildren include; Chad (Kimberly) Johnson and their son Blake, Sasha (Craig) Thompson and their children Chase and Catch, Stacy (Tim) Byer and their children Callie and Cole, Lucas (Kasey) Johnson and their children Mackenzie and Hunter, Nicholas Kallberg, Jeremy Kallberg and his son Evan. One brother survives; Bud (Beulah) Sigudson of Albert Lea, MN, and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Clifford, Brothers Ralph, Lumen, Norris, James and Wally, Sister Delores and one sister in infancy.
Mom, you taught us love, patience and kindness. We were truly blessed to have you as our mom. We will miss your sense of humor and smile every day.
