Bernice Anderson

Funeral Services for Bernice H. Anderson of Albert Lea, will be held at 1:30 P.M. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Reverend Curtis Zieske will officiate. Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Albert Lea. Visitation will be from 5-7 on Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.
Bernice died on Monday, October 15, 2012 at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island, Minnesota. She was 93. She was born on January 6, 1919, in Albert Lea the daughter of Marinus and Andrea(Jensen) Jorgensen; she grew up and attended school there. On December 24, 1939, she married Alton Anderson and raised her family in the area. Bernice was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. She enjoyed baking, collecting antiques, and taking care of her grand children. She was a dog lover; for most of her adult life, she enjoyed the companionship of the various dogs she had. Bernice is survived by her children sons: Terry (Jan) Anderson of Albert Lea, Scott of Minneapolis, and Michael(Sara) Anderson of Rochester, and by her daughters Barb (Roger) Poole of Pine Island and Judy (Dennis) Jensen of Albert Lea; her grandchildren: Tracy, Troy, Andrea, Andrew, Elias, Devon, Julie, Danny, Timothy, Brenda, and Brent. Great grandchildren: Nathan, Mitchell, Mathew, Jared, Audrey, Quintin, Logan, Sami, Danny Jr., and Haruka.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Alton S. Anderson who died on April 19, 1987, infant son Brian, and sisters: Marion Bishop, Helen Lunstrum, Ellen Derewenko and brothers Harding Jorgensen and Elton (Bud) Jorgensen. Memorials suggested to the Humane Society of Freeborn County.
