Funeral Services for Bernetta Hanson, of Albert Lea, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 1 at Zion Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Reverend Robert Bailey will officiate. Interment will be in
Geneva Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. on Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour before the service at the church.
Bernetta died on Thursday, February 26, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Community. She was born on April 7, 1932 near Ellendale, Minnesota the daughter of Albert and Helen (Brynestad) Sorenson. She attended rural Ellendale Schools. On May 26, 1948, she married Lyle W. Hanson at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. They made their home in Hollandale. Bernetta enjoyed making her house a home and taking care of her family. Some of her favorite things include sewing, playing bingo, planting flowers, going for coffee and she loved her sweets especially ice cream and Reeses peanut butter cups. She is survived by her children Dean (Diane) Hanson of Albert Lea, Debra(Lance) Weitzel-Vitha of Albert Lea and Lyle "Babe" (Angela) Hanson of Albert Lea, son-in-law William Witter of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Mike (Norma) Witter of Janesville, MN, Mark (Christine) Witter, Annandale, MN, Lisa (Lupe) Reyes of Albert Lea, Billy Witter of Clarks Grove, Dustin Witter of Albert Lea Dean (Jennifer) Hanson Jr. of Albert Lea, Angie Hanson of Albert Lea, Dale "D.J."(Suzanne)Boverhuis of Indiana, Jana (Todd) Stadheim of Albert Lea, Nicole (Josh) Godfredson of Northfield, MN, Crystal (Grady) Studier of Clarks Grove, Lani Hanson of Nebraska and Noah Hanson of Albert Lea, many great grandchildren; sisters Donna Guevarra of Albert Lea, Margaret Otterson of Albert Lea; half brothers: Raymond (Glenda) Olsen of Las Vegas, NV., Richard
(Linda) Sorenson of Waseca, MN, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lyle, her daughter Linda Witter, her grandson Scott Witter and siblings Marlys, Howard, Louella, Donny and Muriel.
