The funeral service for Belle (Eva) Carlson of Albert Lea, MN will be at 2:30 PM Friday, January 2, 2009 at St. John's Lutheran Home Chapel, Albert Lea. Pastor Jeff Laeger-Hagemeister will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 PM Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea and one hour before service at the chapel. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Albert Lea. Belle died on Monday, December 29, 2008 at St. John's Lutheran Home, Albert Lea. She was 79 years old. Belle was born in Hardshell, Kentucky on March 16, 1929, the daughter of Marcus and Emma (Russell) Campbell. She attended school in a one room school house in Breathitt, Kentucky. Belle was married to Alvin Carlson on January 29, 1950 in Algona, Indiana. She lived in Chicago, IL, Dayton, Ohio before moving to Albert Lea in 1952. Belle was a member of the Weslyan Methodist Church. Belle worked at Banquet Foods in Wells, many restaurants in Albert Lea and enjoyed cooking, always trying out new recipes. She also enjoyed gardening, upholstering, sewing and most of all enjoyed anytime she could spend with her family. Belle is survived by her husband, Alvin Carlson of Albert Lea, MN; six children: Terry Carlson of Winnebago, MN, Larry (Judy) Carlson of Albert Lea, MN, Mary (John) Penley of Albert Lea, MN, Linda (Calvin) Beebe of Rochester, MN, Marcus (Jane) Carlson of St. Peter, MN, Kimberly (Wade) Seadlund of Albert Lea, MN; grandchildren: Tanya Goette, Adam Schaefer, Ellie Olson, Celeste Lewis, Wade Steven, Blake Schaefer, Tammy Hall, Tiffany Carlson, Kacey Pagel, Leah Carlson, Lisa Carlson, Lucas Carlson, Paige Sealund; 16 Great Grandchildren; brother: Alfred Campbell of Kentucky and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in Kentucky. Belle was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters, 3 brothers.
