Funeral Services for Becky Lea Knipping of Albert Lea, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 2, at St. Theodore Catholic Church, Albert Lea. The Reverend Russ Scepaniak will officiate. Interment will be in St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 on Wednesday, February 1, at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea and one hour before the service at the church.
Becky died on Sunday, January 22, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. She was 58. She was born on July 4, 1958, in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Bernard and Alice (Underberg) Van Vooren. Becky graduated from Albert Lea High School and then took business classes at Riverland Community College in Albert Lea, and nurses training at Riverland Community College in Austin, MN. She was married Howard "John" Knipping for 25 years, they were later divorced. Becky had worked for several nursing homes and Mustang Manufacturing in Owatonna. Becky loved dogs, babies, angels and loons. She had been active in ABATE.
One or her favorite pastimes was spending time shopping with her mom. Becky is survived by her parents Bernard and Alice Van Vooren of Albert Lea; brothers: Rodney (Cindra) Van Vooren of Rochester, MN, Mark (Sue) Van Vooren of Hayward, MN, and Kevin (Karen) Van Vooren of Rochester, MN; nieces and nephews: Kris (Dominic) Andrist, Mazeppa, MN, Kelly (Adam) Schroeder and their children Owen, Neveah and Fate of Rochester, MN Katie (Jamie) Diersen and their children Ella and Liam of Canton, MN, Carla Van Vooren of Burnsville, MN, Alex Van Vooren of New Brighton, MN, Ben (Courtney) Van Vooren of St. Louis Park, MN and Laura Van Vooren of Rochester, MN, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester for the compassionate care she received.
