Memorial Service for Barbara will be held at 11am Wednesday May 31, 2017 at First Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. Officiated by Reverend Sean Forde. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service.
Barbara Jean Jensen, age 68, died on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Albert Lea Medical Center. She was born on October 5, 1948 to Parents Harold (Bud) and Norma (Budach) Schneider in Albert Lea. Barbara graduated from Albert Lea High School.
Barbara worked at Dixons Drive Inn and A&W Restaurant. She also worked at the Albert Lea Tribune and at Streater's before she began working at Riverland Community College for 25 years and ended her career there as the Executive Secretary to the Dean.
Barbara was a member of First Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Neil Diamond Fan Club and attended over 15 of his concerts. She attended lunch groups and regularly met with a group that was called the Fab 4. She enjoyed filling her free time with gardening. She was a lover of animals, especially her cat Caeser.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Gene Jensen; mother, Norma Schneider of Albert Lea; son, Tim (Jessica) Jensen of Rochester; grandchildren, Carter, Jack, Elise; sister, Janet Jensen of Albert Lea; brother, Jim Schneider of Albert Lea; mother in law, Mildred Jensen of Albert Lea; sister in law, Marge (Don) DeWinter of Peculiar, MO; many nieces and nephews; as well as many family and friends.
Barbara is preceded in death by her father Harold (Bud) Schneider; father in law Elwood (Red) Jensen; and numerous aunts and uncles.
