Memorial services for Barbara Idelle Foley, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pastor Dwight Netzer will officiate. Private interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery.
Barbara died on Monday morning, October 25, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Center. She was 87 years of age.
Barbara was born on August 3, 1923 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Thomas J. and Blanche (Hartman) Thompson. She was united in marriage to Newman C. Foley on August 24, 1957, in Deerfield, IL. Barbara was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Albert Lea. Barbara had many talents which included
being an award winning photographer, and a professional singer. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Federated Womena�(TM)s Club, where she had served as past president. She enjoyed knitting and gardening. Barbara is survived by her children; Martha Foley of Buffalo Grove, IL, Thomas and his wife Pamela Foley of Longwood, FL, and their children Brad and Nicholas, Kimber and her husband Alan Swenson of Cody, WY, and their children Ben, Casey and Maida, Kirk Foley of Friday Harbor, WA. and his children Jessica, Peter and Matthew. There are eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Newman on September
