Memorial services for Barbara Blowers will be held at 2 PM Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the Bonnerup-Friedrich Funeral Chapel in New Richland, MN. Interment will be in the LeSueur River Cemetery near New Richland.
Barbara Jean Blowers passed away peacefully at the New Richland Care Center on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the age of 75. Barbara was born on March 1, 1941 to Louise and Elmer Weckwerth in Waseca, MN. She graduated from Waseca High School.
On June 12, 1959, Barbara married LaVerne Blowers at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca. Together they made their home in New Richland for several years, followed by residences in Fairmont, Morristown, and lastly Waseca. While living in Morristown, Barbara was active at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with the quilting group and serving in the kitchen. She loved mowing her lawn, caring for her garden, and canning tomatoes with her husband.
Barbara is survived by her husband, LaVerne; brothers and sisters, Stanley (Nancy) Weckwerth of Faribault, Annette Tomez of Waseca, Johnny Weckwerth of Sun City, AZ; brothers and sisters in-law, Karen Weckwerth of Waseca, Karen & Mark Richter of Conger, Linda & Dale Hall of Rochester; several nieces & nephews and their children; and many other relatives.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, David and Steven Weckwerth.
