A Celebration of Life Memorial services for Arthur L. Lombard of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel. The Reverend John Holt will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Geneva Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea Area Veterans Groups.
Arthur died Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at St Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. He was 78 years of age.
Art was born July 25, 1937 in Clarks Grove, MN, the son of William and Mildred (Hanson) Lombard. He served his country in the US Air Force serving in France. On December 17, 1960 he was united in marriage to Sharon Johnson at the First Lutheran Church Chapel in Albert Lea, MN. He resided in Freeborn County all of his life. Art was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea and had been employed by Dave Syverson Ford and the Sorenson Garage as an auto tech.
Art was a member of the Red Wing Collectors Society and the Albert Lea American Legion. He enjoyed camping, auctions, fishing, NASCAR, and spending time with his family. He was very mechanically inclined and enjoyed working in the garage. He could fix anything put in front of him. He also enjoyed working on the Freeborn County Snowmobile trail and teaching the snowmobile training classes.
Arthur is survived by his wife Sharon of Albert Lea, MN, children; Dawn and her husband David Barnick and their children Jillian, Daniel, Patrick and Rachel of Albert Lea, MN, Brad and his wife Jena and their children Brady and Dylan of Faribault, MN, Lisa Reuter(Jesse Silva) and her children Ashley Lombard (Kevin Pagel), Sarah Reuter, Brendan Reuter and Bryce Reuter. Kari Lombard (Mark Wannarka) and her children Nicholas and Molly Hulburt of Owatonna, MN. One sister survives; Laurel (Sue) and her husband Bob Stiehl of Albert Lea, MN, mother in law Mabel Johnson of Albert Lea, MN, brothers in law Gary (Renee) Johnson and Ronald Johnson both of Albert Lea, MN. He had a special place for his pet dog Charlie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sons Scott and Timothy, sisters Delores Lombard and Alice (Victor) Frost, brother Allen Lombard and step father Orville Hartwell.
