The funeral service for Arnold Lloyd Biedermann of Albert Lea, MN will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Albert Lea, MN. The Reverend Curtis Zieske will officiate. Interment will be in Concordia Lutheran Pickerel Lake Cemetery, Visitation will be 4-6p.m. Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea and one hour before the service at the church.
Arnold died suddenly Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the Albert Lea Medical Center. He was 80 years old.
Arnold was born December 15, 1929 at Guttenberg, Iowa to Harry and Effie (Tindel) Biedermann. As a child he grew up at the Bremwood Childrena�(TM)s Home, Waverly, Iowa. He came to Albert Lea at the age of 15 and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1949. Arnold married Adeline Hensche on February 5, 1951 at the Alden Lutheran Church. He served as a MP in the United Sates, Army. Arnold was a very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He sang in the church choir, and served as a communion assistant. Arnold also sang for many weddings and funerals. He served as a Albert Lea policeman for 8 years and then belonged to the Albert Lea Fire Department where they created the Department of Fire Prevention where he served and became the city Fire Marshall. He also had been the City Dog Catcher for two years. Arnold was a member of the National Guards for 18 years, and County Commissioner for 12 years. He belonged to the American Legion, Rotary Club, SPIRE, St. Johna�(TM)s Lutheran Home Board, the United Way, and Red Cross. Arnold enjoyed helping children and participated as Santa, and was the school crossing guard for Lakeview School. Arnold was a very community minded person and was very compassionate to the less fortunate. Arnold was a regular blood donor and helped with the Salvation Army Bell ringing. He hosted nine Rotary Exchange Students. Arnold enjoyed riding his bicycle around Albert Lea.
Arnold is survived by his wife Adeline Biedermann; children: Annette Walls and her husband Andy and their children Aaron, Adam and Acacia; Alan Biedermann and his wife Pat and their children Christina and Phil Becker and their children Jasmine and Conner; Anissa and Dustin Anderson and their children Skyla and Brock; Derek Biedermann; Adele and Jerry Legreid and their children Lauren and Russel; Anita Biedermann and her children Brandon and Kristin Hower and Brittney Hower; Angela and Bill Barberg and their children Adrienne and Alec; sister: Gertrude Frye of Waterloo, Iowa; brother: Jerry Stille of Lake Mills, Iowa; foster sister-in-law: Mae Bangert of Cottage Grove, Minnesota; foster brother-in-law: Pastor Arthur Nickels of Minneapolis, Minnesota; sistera�"in-law: Inez Lutteke of Albert Lea, Minnesota; many special nieces, nephews and cousins.
