Ardis Drescher

Funeral services for Ardis E. Drescher will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Kiester.  The Reverend Katie Pals will officiate.  Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Albert Lea.

Ardis passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea.  She was 94 years old.

Ardis Elaine (Juveland) Drescher was born on April 21, 1923 in Winnebago County, IA to Selmer and Selma (Olson) Juveland.  She was baptized in 1923 in Scarville, IA and confirmed in 1938 in Hartland, MN.  She graduated from Freeborn High School in 1942.  That same year, she married Herbert Drescher.  To this union, two children were born: Dale and Larry.  The couple later divorced.

Ardis was a member at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Kiester.  She was also a member of the Legion Auxiliary, Ladies Aide, Senior Citizens in Kiester, and the local birthday club.  She enjoyed baking, traveling, playing cards, doing word books, and most of all, spending time with her family.  She absolutely loved her grandchildren!  A favorite memory for Ardis was taking a trip to Seattle, WA.

Ardis is survived by her children, Dale Drescher and Larry Drescher; former daughters in-law, Kathy Anderson and Tess Drescher; grandchildren, Justin (Courtney) Drescher, Jenna Drescher and significant other, Nick Souderland, Jeremy Evenson, Lindsey Drescher and Fiancée Michael Kelley, and Ryan (Amanda) Drescher; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Ella, Breydan, Macie, Kinley, Mckalynn, Josie, Karley, and Baby Sophie on the way; nieces and nephews, Glen (LeAnn) Juveland, Nancy (Tom) Haney, Sue (Del) Johnson, Dea (Herb) Milton, Lori Juveland, Debbie Post, Paula Juveland, Brenda Juveland, as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by both parents; her brothers, Kermit (Darlene) Juveland and Howard (Lorraine) Juveland; nephews, Darryl Juveland and Duane Juveland.
