Anna Wallace

June 5, 1926 — August 28, 2011

The funeral service for Anna Gretina Wallace of Geneva, Minnesota will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Community Lutheran Church, Geneva, MN. The Reverend Carrie McElfresh will officiate. Interment will be in the Geneva Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea and one hour before the service at the church. Anna died Sunday August 28, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Center. She was 85 years old.

Anna was born June 5, 1926 in Palmer, Iowa to Gerd and Katharina (Janssen) Hartman. and graduated from the Palmer Schools. She married Robert Wallace on November 25, 1953 at Palmer, Iowa. They made there home at Bradgate, Iowa until 1959 when they moved to Dorset, MN. They owned and operated a resort from 1959 -1966 and then the family moved to Geneva, MN. Anna was a member of the Community Lutheran Church in Geneva and belonged to one of the church Circles, and later to the WELCA. She was also in the quilt making group. She worked as a bookkeeper and did housekeeping for others. Anna was a member of the Grapevine Twist Square Dancers. Her hobbies were sewing, crocheting, doing patchwork (quilts) and baking. Anna enjoyed being with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Anna is survived by her children: Paul (Debbie) Wallace of Geneva, Mn, Shirley (Greg)
Tennant of Sleepy Eye, MN, and John (Becky) Wallace of Woodinville, WA; four grandchildren: Christopher Wallace and Marie Wallace of Albert Lea, MN, Brandon (Christina) Wallace of Albert Lea, MN, Bobby Wallace of Woodinville, WA and Michael Wallace of Woodinville, WA; three great grandchildren: Elizabeth & Hailey Wallace and Chloe Wallace; sister: Eileen Alig and Elsie Price of Palmer, IA; brother: Melvin Hartman of Pomeroy, IA; sisters-in-law: Marlys and Rozella Hartman.

Anna is preceded in death by her parents: Gerd and Katharina Hartman; husband: Robert Wallace; two brothers: Richard and Earl Hartman.
