Anna Sletten

Funeral services for Anna Mae Sletten of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the Bear Lake Lutheran Church. Pastor Daphne Hamborg will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday evening at the Bonnerup Funeral Service from 4 until 7 PM and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Bear Lake Cemetery.
Anna died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at St Johns Lutheran Home. She was 84 years of age.
Anna was born April 3, 1927 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Leo and Martha (Katzung) Hodges. She graduated from Kiester High School in 1946. On June 4, 1947 she was united in marriage to Henry Sletten in Kiester, MN.
Anna had been employed by Johnson Laundry, Land-O-Lakes Company, and St Johns Lutheran Home in Albert Lea, MN. She resided in Kiester, Clarks Grove, Twin Lakes for over 30 years, and the past 10 years in Albert Lea.
Anna was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, The Red Hat Society, and president of the St Johns Lutheran Home Auxiliary for many years. She also enjoyed the Senior Citizens in Twin Lakes, Emmons and Albert Lea, MN. In her free time, she loved to go camping, fishing and playing golf.
Anna is survived by her children Linda and her husband Rod Tovar of Albert Lea, MN, Kathy and her husband Dennis Christenson of Albert Lea, MN, Larry and his wife Sandy Sletten of Twin Lakes, MN, Kevin and his wife DeAnn Sletten of Delevan, MN. There are eight grandchildren; Sarah (significant other Al Benson) Tovar, Holly (Tyler) Krogstad, Jayson (Paula) Christenson, Jeff (Amy) Christenson, Dave (Jen) Veldhuizen, Heather Anderson, Jeremy (Jolene) Sletten, Robert (LaVonne) Sletten. There are 16 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. Two sisters in law; Elaine Sletten of Austin, MN, Helen Raveill of Chatfield, MN, brother in law; Ken Sletten of Clarks Grove, MN, and many nieces and nephews.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband Henry, son Steven, great granddaughter Samantha Christenson and brother Leo Hodges.
