Funeral services for Anna Marie Lien of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Pastor Todd Walsh will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5 until 7 at the Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Ann died on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Mayo Health Systems Albert Lea, MN. She was 94 years of age.
Ann Marie was born on July 16, 1916 in Buffalo Center, Iowa, the daughter of Ben and Ella (Alberts) Westendorf. She attended public school in IA. In 1941 she was united in marriage to Glenn Lien in Albert Lea, MN. They lived in the Kiester area for many years. In 1957 they moved to Albert Lea where she was employed at Armor Foods for over 19 years. Ann also worked for the Holiday Inn until retiring in 1985 and moving to Shady Oaks Apartments.
Ann was a long time member of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards and going on trips.
She is survived by her three sons; Jack Westendorf and Marge Dann of Albert Lea, MN, Dennis and Cheryl
Lien of Albert Lea, MN, and Duane and Joyce Lien of Ames, IA. There are six grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. One brother and two sisters survive; Ray Westendorf, Jeanette Herfendahl and Helen Pederson. There are also many nieces and nephews.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband Glenn, son Gary, sisters Minnie Williams, Frances Brackey and Alice Nack. Brother Bennie Westendorf, daughter in law Doris and granddaughter Patty.
Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
