Memorial Services for Amy McKey will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Christ Episcopal Church in Albert Lea. The Reverend Jim Young and Reverend Jake Loper will officiate. Amy died surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Thorne Crest Retirement Community. Amy has bequeathed her body to Mayo Foundation for the advancement of medical education. Interment at Graceland Cemetery will be at a later date. Amy McKey was born April 2, 1920, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Lisle and Ida Aitchison. Amy graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1938, and from the University of Minnesota with a BS degree in Education. She also attained a degree in nursing later in life, and worked at Thorne Crest Retirement Center . Amy was married to



Charles (Mac) McKey on April 2 nd , 1943, in San Bernadino , California . Charles passed away in 1973.



Amy enjoyed walking, state parks, camping, golfing, gardening and cooking for others. She especially enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and watching the Minnesota Twins. Amy volunteered with Hospice, delivered Meals on Wheels, and helped with bowling at Thorne Crest. Amy was a lifelong member of Christ Episcopal Church of Albert Lea, and an active member of Episcopal Church Women. Amy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a friend. She is survived by three children-Tom McKey and his wife Betty of Miami, Florida, Kathryn Morris and her husband Alan of Denver , Colorado , and Chuck McKey and his wife Robin of Owatonna , MN . She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Memorials suggested to Christ Episcopal Church of Crossroads Community Hospice.
