Funeral services for Ann Schmidt will be held at 1 PM Friday, May 29, 2015 at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea, MN. Father Timothy T. Reker will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM Thursday May 28 as well as one hour prior to the service Friday. Interment will be in Freeborn Cemetery.

Amelia "Ann" Schmidt, age 94 of Worthington, MN died Monday, May 25, 2015 at the South Shore Care Center in Worthington. She was born on August 9, 1920 to Rose (Kulink) and Michael Sabinash near Buchanan, ND. She grew up and attended country school near Spiritwood, ND.

Ann married Philip Cichos on August 24, 1939 at Windsor, ND. They came to Minnesota and farmed near Easton. Later, they moved to Freeborn where they farmed as well. She moved to Worthington, MN in 1965 and worked at Campbell's Soup until she retired. She married Arvin Schmidt on June 24, 1969.

In her free time, Ann enjoyed tending her flowers, doing puzzles, creating intricate embroidery, and reading books. With a smile on her face, Ann was a fearless lady with great sense of humor.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Arvin Schmidt; children, Janice Kalbow of Hartland, MN, Eugene Cichos (Laurie) of Freeborn, MN; grandchildren, Lynn Somage (Michael) of Hartland, MN and Kerry Kalbow (special friend, Rhonda Wenzel) of Hartland, MN, Marni Esse (Jason) of Janesville, MN, Matt Cichos (Marsha) of Waseca, MN, and Molly Tuttrup (Matt) of Waseca, MN; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; step-children, Arvin 'Chip' Schmidt Jr. (Patty), Bruce (Debbie) Schmidt, Carla Daly, and Cami Schmidt all of Rochester, MN; 11 step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; sister, Josephine Dent of Renton, WA; and longtime friend, Jan Deboom of Worthington, MN.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents; son, Bill Cichos; son-in-law, Bob Kalbow; step-daughter, Carmen Rathke; and several brothers and sisters.
