Funeral Service for Alyce Mae (Carter) Ovrebo, will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 12, at Bonnerup Funeral Service, 2210 East Main, Albert Lea. The Reverend Phil Shaw will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Glenville. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Alyce died on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester, MN. She was 73. She was born on September 10, 1940, in Albert Lea Minnesota, the daughter of Mark A. and Bertha L. (Branstad) Carter. Alyce graduated from Albert Lea High School. She resided in Twin Lakes until she moved to the Rochester area in 1964. She married the love of her life Jerry Ovrebo, on February 8, 1959, in Forest City, Iowa. They enjoyed more than 55 years together. Alyce was an expert gardener, having a special talent for growing orchids. She was very accomplished at sewing, which included clothing and leather craft. Everything Alyce did reflected her gift as a talented artist. It showed in her paintings, sculptures, gardens, cooking, and craft creations. She also enjoyed reading, listening to classical music and the beauty of animals, especially her many feline companions. She is survived by her two daughters: Jeanie (Jim) Michelizzi of Pine Island, MN, Lenore Delhanty of Pine Island, MN; grandchildren: Denise Delhanty of Rochester, MN, Jerry Delhanty of Pine Island, MN, Miranda Williamson of Pine Island, MN, Patrick Williamson of Rochester, MN, Jacob Michelizzi of Pine Island, MN; great grandchildren: Christopher, Catherine and Connor Williamson of Pine Island, MN, and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Mark and Bertha Carter. Alyce was a wonderful, unique, creative and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be fondly remembered for her patient, loving heart and will be greatly missed.
