Memorial services for Allen R. Tullberg of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church. Pastor Janet White will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in East Freeborn Lutheran Cemetery.
Allen died Friday, January 23, 2015 at St John's Lutheran Home in Albert Lea. He was 71 years of age.
Allen was born August 14, 1943 in Albert Lea the son of Alfred and Tora (Remmen) Tullberg. He was a graduate of Albert Lea High School.
On March 28, 1964 he was united in marriage to Barbara Enderson at the East Freeborn Lutheran Church. Allen had been employed for 36 years with the City of Albert Lea Water and Sewer Department, and for 11 years working transport at Thorne Crest Retirement Center.
Allen was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church serving as an usher, scripture reader and distributing communion. He was a member of the American Legion Club and was a bell ringer for the Salvation Army. In his free time he enjoyed playing golf, motorcycling, woodworking, all sports (especially hockey) and travel with his wife.
He is survived by his wife Barbara of Albert Lea, MN, children Brenda and her husband Tom Christenson of Mankato, MN, Brad Tullberg, and special friend Erika Rahm of Plymouth, MN, grandchildren Adam Christenson, Eric Christenson and special friend Amanda Zurst, Josh Christenson and special friend Rose Able, Allison Tullberg and Wyatt Tullberg. There are two great grandchildren; Aunabella Christenson and Emmalyn Christenson. Also surviving are brothers-in-law Edward (Judy) Enderson of Albert Lea, MN, Roger (Shirley) Enderson of Albert Lea, MN, Alton (Cathy) Enderson of Albert Lea, MN, sisters-in-law Patricia (De) Bendtsen of Rochester, MN, and Margaret List of Austin, MN and many nieces and nephews.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother in law Ernest and Alice Enderson, brothers-in-law Duane Enderson and Jim List.
