Memorial services for Allan J. Berg of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Pastor Todd Walsh will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery, Ellendale, MN.
Mr. Berg died Monday, May 28, 2013 at his home in Albert Lea. He was 78 years of age.
Allan was born November 26, 1934 in Ellendale, MN, the son of Bennett and Edna (Sehear) Berg. He graduated from Ellendale High School. On August 31, 1952 he was united in marriage to Louise Thompson at the First Lutheran Church in Ellendale, MN.
Allan had been employed for over 35 years at the Wilson Co. In Albert Lea. He was a lifelong resident of the Ellendale and Albert Lea Area and a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Allan was active in the Union and enjoyed playing golf, baseball, softball and bowling.
He is survived by his wife Louise of Albert Lea, MN, children; Debra (Rick) Riemann of Brooklyn Center, MN, David (DeAnn) Berg of Elko-New Market, MN, DeAnne (Dale) Maroo of Mason City, IA. Grandchildren include; Kimberly Riemann, Stephanie (Michael) Spaeth, Allison (Scott) Carlson, Nicholas Berg, Ryan Berg, Cali Berg, Haley Renner, Dani Renner, Megan Renner, Spencer Maroo and Megan Maroo. There are five great grandchildren; Antonio Riemann, Jaxen Schneider, Caden Carlson, Tanner Carlson and Jase Carlson. Two brothers survive; Phillip (Bonnie) Berg of New Mexico and Rick Berg of Eagan, MN.
Allan was preceded in death by his parents Bennett and Edna and one grandson Scott Riemann.
