Memorial services for Adolph Patrick Hernandez of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, March 31, 2011 at St Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea. Father James Berning and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 4 until 7 PM at the Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St Theodore Catholic Cemetery.
Patrick died on Friday, March 25, 2011 at the Albert Lea Medical Center. He was 71 years of age.
Patrick was born March 17, 1940 in San Antonio, Texas the son of Sotero and Florence (Martinez) Hernandez. He attended public school in Texas. In 1957 he moved to the Hollandale area and has resided in Albert Lea for the past 36 years. Patrick attended St Theodore and St Mary's Catholic Churches.
He was employed for many years at the Albert Lea Foundry and did seasonal field work. Patrick was also a translator for many families in the Albert Lea area.
Patrick loved to play Bingo, enjoyed flowers, working in the outdoors on his lawn and loved the company of others. He was a very compassionate person with a big heart. He worked very hard all of his life.
Patrick is survived by his significant other; Darlene Winters of Albert Lea, MN, children; Janie Hernandez of Austin, MN, Patricia (Scott) Stahl of Albert Lea, MN, Delores (Jerry Karow) Hernandez of Albert Lea, MN, Phyllis (Tony) Droz of Iowa, Corina Flores of Austin, MN, Linda Hernandez of Albert Lea, MN, Adolph Hernandez of Albert Lea, MN, Elizabeth Mosibais of San Antonio, TX, and Aaron Winter of Albert Lea, MN. Grandchildren include; Eric, Melissa, Alex, Jordan, Logan, Roseanne, Mark, Ronald, Justin, Roxanne, Charlene, Nicole, Jeremy, Valarie, Garin, Shawn, Sonya, Jared, Garnys, Juan, Sara, Cody, Chase, Sotero, Courtney, Taylor, Dana, Brenda, Joe, Kathy, Jr, and Juan. There are 48 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters; Alvin (Janie) Hernandez of Albert Lea, MN, Raymond Hernandez of Albert Lea, MN, Rosie (Richard) Peterson of Albert Lea, MN, Mary Lou Potter of Estherville, MN, Herman Hernandez of Albert Lea, MN, Robert (Anna) Hernandez of Albert Lea, MN, and many nieces and nephews.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Brother Terry Hernandez and Sotero Hernandez Jr, and two other brothers and four sisters.
