Memorial Services for Aaron Lee Summers of Albert Lea, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. The Reverend George Marin will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in Chicago, Ill. Aaron died on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 in Sun City, Arizona, surrounded by his family. He was 72. He was born on August 14, 1940 to S.J. and Hazel Summers in Carrier Mills, IL. Aaron married his wife of 55 years, Helene Marie Tullio, on October 26, 1957, in Indiana. Aaron and Helene enjoyed many years of happiness with their family and friends. Together they had three children, Frank, Debra, and Sharon. Aaron graduated from St. Thomas University in St. Paul, where he received his master's degree in business administration. Aaron retired in 1992 as the vice president in charge of
manufacturing at Ventura Foods and served as the mayor of Albert Lea from 1985 to 1986 and also June 2005 to June 2006. Aaron was a member of many organizations including the Kiwanis Club, the Eagles, the Elks and the Chamber of Commerce. Aaron was on the board of directors at Wells Fargo Bank and the Albert Lea Family Y, the Condominium Association of Kirkwood, Willow Greens Condominium Association and many other associations and affiliations. Aaron enjoyed fishing, golfing, reading, cooking and spending time with friends. His grandchildren were his favorite hobby. He is survived by his wife, Helene, children, Frank (Rene) Summers, Debra Summers and Sharon (Keven) Summers-Johnson; grandchildren, Jennifer Summers, Matthew Summers, Mark Bousman, Ashley Bousman, Garrett Eichhorn, and Katie Eichhorn; siblings: Jane and Scott McAlpine and Linda Turner; sister-in-law, MaryAnn Snyder; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Aaron was preceded in death by his parents, S.J. and Hazel Summers, brother Ted Summers, sisters Lois Olson, Phyllis Gifford and nephew Kevin McAlpine.
