Funeral services for Cody A. Baseman will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Reverend Gary Harris will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 – 8 PM on Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Albert Lea, as well as one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery. Bonnerup Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
Cody passed away tragically on September 24, 2015 in Albert Lea. He was 28 years old.
Cody Baseman was born on September 15, 1987 in Albert Lea, the son of Lori (Darin Halstead) Callahan, Craig (Julie) Eggers and Wade (Kari) Baseman. He grew up and lived in Albert Lea his entire life. After his schooling, he worked various jobs. If he wasn't helping his grandpa with odd jobs, he was working at Hardees as a supervisor, or at EZ-Rental, where he was currently working. Cody was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Family was most important to Cody. He was blessed with four children: Havana, Miya, Arianna, and Grace. He cherished all of the times he was together with his entire family. Cody also loved to tinker with his Ford PGT, listen to music, and hunt and fish. He was an excellent cook that enjoyed grilling outside. He was a handy man that could fix anything, if you don't believe it; you just had to ask him! He was always there to help other people, and never said no to a task. He was a very social person. He could walk into a room full of people he has never met, and would know every single person by the time he left. His smile was contagious, and his personality shined through everywhere he went.
Cody is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Milton (Virginia) Christenson, and Clarence (Alice) Eggers; cousins, David Christenson and Elizabeth Christenson; and an aunt, Patty Eggers.
Cody leaves behind the four apples to his eye, children, Havana, Miya and Arianna Brigston and Grace Starman, daughter of Sarah Starman; parents, Lori (Darin Halstead) Callahan, and Craig (Julie) Eggers; his biological father, Wade (Kari) Baseman; his significant other, Heather Brigston; grandparents, Michael (Kathy Callahan-Kunkel) Callahan, Clarence (LaVonne) Eggers, Robert (Diane) Newton, and Pam Minear, and Dennis (Jan) Baseman; siblings, Cady Baseman, Spencer Eggers, Jerry Halstead, Zachary Ingavldson, Leslie Willaby, Melissa Czenkus, Katie Clark, Cody Grabill, Miranda, Marissa, and Mateo Baseman; aunts and uncles, Christopher (Kerry) Callahan, Jennifer (Rich) Waggoner, Lisa (Mark) Palamountain, Jordann Kunkel and significant other, Nick Battey, Deon Newton, and Bobby Newton; Gary (LuAnn) Eggers, Pam (Jon) Huus, Jill (Tim) Butt, and Corina Baseman; cousins, Emily, Levi, Will, Larissa, Bailey, Lucas, Danny, Logan, Roark, Remi, Jerod, Grace, Cooper, and Robert as well as many other loving cousins, relatives and friends.
